Visiting the archives of ExTeresa Arte Actual: I  Mexican women performance artists is a piece which addresses the invisibility of mexican female performers because of their absence in the icons and stereotypes which represent mexican "culture" and form part of the way in which "national identity" is generally represented. Her performance will also look at the ways in which female mexican performers have repeated or questioned these concepts.

Friday, 22nd of November, 19:30 pm
Latina Americana (Mexican Mix)
Claudia Algara
Length: 30 minutes
Artist led Q&A roundtable discussion after the performance

Latina Americana (Mexican Remix) is a poetic audio-visual performance, in which she mixes clothes, objects, audio-visual texts and music. It speaks about the interrelations and cultural interferences between Mexico and the United States, which form an important part of the cultural process in the border region of Baja California.
